This website is owned by the Auckland Fiji Community.

It is managed by the Website Sub-committee of the Fiji Community Association of Auckland Inc on behalf of the community.

The Website sub-committee is responsible for the day to day management of the website under the overall direction of the Executive Committee.

A website is recognised as an important tool for strengthening the association and enhancement of members’ welfare and interests through:

- improved communication,

- provision of information,

- strengthening of community spirit

- support for the Association,

- facilitation of access to sources of Government and Non-Government assistance programmes.

The 12 stated aims, purposes and objectives of the Fiji Community Association of Auckland Inc are:

1. To provide a platform where people may plan and work together to promote the social and cultural wellbeing of its members.

2. To provide members a central meeting place for sporting, social, educational, religious and other purposes.

3. To initiate and support programmes that advances the social and economic development and welfare of the members and their families and reinforces existing family support.

4. To guide and/or assist members to resettle and adapt to the New Zealand way of life, while at the same time nurturing and cultivating the traditions of their origins.

5. To provide information, advice and assistance in matters of employment, immigration, housing, education, family problems, health, translations, court appearances, counselling and other matters of concern to members.

6. To liaise with Government departments and other organisations and agencies who may assist the work of the Association.

7. To solicit and raise funds, to accept and receive donations, subsidies, grants, gifts, to borrow money or pledge security, to purchase, lease or take gift or otherwise acquire land, to engage in any business transaction to implement the aims, purposes and objectives of the Association.

8. To gather and distribute information and resources which will promote the well being of the members.

9. To promote and encourage recognition of the members of the Association and any social, cultural and economic adjustments and contribution each member has made to New Zealand society.

10. To encourage and value each members respective culture and religion.

11. To develop and maintain good relationships with communities in New Zealand and any other country the members may deem appropriate.

12. To promote and maintain close ties with the people and Government of Fiji.





Auckland Fiji Community Website Policies
1. The Community’s website policies support the twelve (12) Aims, Purposes and Objectives of the Auckland Fiji Community Association as outlined in its constitution.

The website is intended to strengthen and advance the interests and welfare of the Association, its members and promote the home country Fiji in Aotearoa and the world.

2. Postings by individuals on public domain of the website such as in the Forum section express the opinions of the writers and do not in any way reflect the views and opinions of the Association. The postings also do not reflect support of the Association for the opinions or materials expressed.

3. The site manager will attempt to erase offensive, libellous, racial and other objectionable postings as soon as possible. This will also include comments that are deemed contradictory to the interest of the Association, and the Fijian Community as a whole.

4. Any posting whether pictorial or written, other than those on the Forum section, must be approved by an authorised representative of the Communication/Publicity Sub-Committee before it is posted.

5. Materials posted on the site must be consistent with and supportive of the Aims Purposes and Objectives of the Fiji Auckland Community Association as outlined in its Constitution.

6. Postings and activities the website is associated with will not transgress any New Zealand law and regulation as well as any International law and regulation that are relevant to New Zealand.

7. The website will promote membership and participation in the Fiji Community Association of Auckland of all ex-Fiji residents, their families, friends, interested persons and suitable parties.

8. As soon as it is practicable, the website will embark on revenue generation activities including the charging of fees for services rendered and engagement of suitable sponsor(s) as means of raising revenue to assist the Association meet its obligations, including the development and maintenance of its website.

9. Fund raising efforts by the Community to assist in the development and maintenance of the website is to include application for assistance from Government and non-Government sources.

10. Levels of fees charged for services rendered are to be determined by the Website Sub-Committee and approved by the Executive Committee.

11. The Website Sub-Committee is to regularly report developments and progress to the Executive Committee as agreed.
